I have been asked how I store my art, and how pictures are displayed. Hanging systems are popular subjects for discussions by artists. I choose long narrow shelves in my home studio. They are infinitely functional, even for a flower or a small glass of water when necessary! I knew the top shelf would be for a 16” picture and I left a little extra room at the top. I neglected to consider the size when framed, so the opposite wall holds larger paintings in their frames.
This way frames are protected. Of course there are boxes on the floor. As a Plein air artist I do have a lot of work, most of it never seen publicly and some destined to be painted over.
